Northumbria University is known for its academic excellence and industry partnerships, working with major organisations like Nike, IBM, Nissan, and the BBC. Despite its strong reputation, the university lacked a reliable platform for students to develop and test their coding skills.

The key challenges were:

• Lack of a secure, structured environment for students to work with PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.
• No existing integration with the university’s student database, requiring a new system with automated access control.
• A need for enhanced security, ensuring students could work in individual, isolated containers.

We designed and deployed a custom Linux-based server platform for Northumbria University, providing students with secure, isolated environments to develop and test real-world coding, database, and server management projects.
