We partnered with Birkdale to design and deliver an integrated digital fence builder. The platform lets homeowners configure fencing projects, generate material lists, and connect with installers, and it syncs with Birkdale’s existing systems and retailer network.
A Connected Fence Building Experience.
Working closely with Birkdale, we designed a fully integrated platform that bridges the gap between customer intent and installer delivery.
At the centre of the solution is a step-by-step configurator that guides users through designing their fence. From layout and dimensions to materials, finishes, and components, each decision is structured, validated, and stored in real time. Compatibility checks mean only viable product combinations are shown, which reduces friction and error.
A dynamic pricing engine turns these inputs into an indicative cost and a complete bill of materials, powered directly by Birkdale’s product and pricing data. Users get immediate clarity, and the figures stay consistent with internal systems.
The journey then branches based on user intent. DIY users receive a detailed build pack and supplier discovery tools, while those opting for installation are matched with nearby installers and guided into a structured quote flow.
The whole experience rests on integration with Birkdale’s platform. Quotes are pushed directly into it, and installers open them through secure, tokenised links, so they can review and edit without leaving their existing dashboard. No duplication and no disruption.
Behind the scenes, a homeowner dashboard lets users manage quotes, track progress, download warranties, and raise issues, which turns a one-off interaction into a longer-term relationship.
