Willmott Dixon is a privately-owned contracting and interior fit-out group. Founded in 1852, they’re still family-run and are just as dedicated to leaving a positive legacy, both environmentally and in the community.

You may never have heard of them but they’re behind important projects such as creating a new home for the Met Office supercomputer, the fit-out of the Design Museum and restoring Alexandra Palace to its former glory. Over the past 160 years, Willmott Dixon has grown into an industry leading business and they approached us to help keep things running smoothly.

The Problem

The Problem

Willmott Dixon had a problem managing their building maintenance schedule. They needed a responsive, mobile-ready solution to help them schedule their staff onto jobs, and they needed to securely store and transfer the job data.

This solution needed to be online and available 24/7, and ready to interface with existing data storage solutions. It would need to allow WD to manage construction at the snagging stage and effectively record all issues on-site, then allocate staff to resolve those issues. It should also allow whitelisting for contractors.

The Solution

The Solution

Excited by the challenge, we dived straight into producing a responsive web interface with mobile touch controls built in. This was all hosted online but encryption at a network and database level secured the data, while secured authentication with third party data storage solutions kept all data safe and backed up.

Willmott Dixon wanted to be able to provide a scheduling tool for their staff so we built a user-friendly staff dashboard which would clearly show a member of staff their schedule for the day or week. We allowed the solution to be whitelisted and branded for subcontractors who would also run on their own domain.

This was a very successful project for the Arch team and, after going into production, the finished system we built has since been used exclusively for the purpose it was developed for, and is also still being used for subcontractors today.

We love a happy client and in this instance, they implemented the system into multiple elements of the business.
